After my Grandmother who was a psychic passed away, I decided to read psychic reviews online, and then do my own tests, and see if I could get myself a really good psychic reading from someone I can trust, even if it does involve using the internet, which can be a little scary for someone my age but my kind nephew helped me out and in making this website, (thanks Pete!)
If you’ve already read my Psychic Source and California Psychics comparison, you’ll know that I liked both sites but preferred PS. Since then I’ve tried a few more sites, done more research and here is what I found out about the top rated psychic sites online.

The short version is that I found these psychics and clairvoyants really great and on the whole accurate, I like the website and find it easy to use, customer service is excellent. Psychic Source is now my go to site if I want to speak to a psychic on the phone.

Keen have really surprised me with how good they are. I only started using them about a year ago on the recommendation of a friend (though they’ve been around for years apparently) and I’ve been very impressed with the quality of their readers. Their website is also lovely and clean and easy to use and the customer service is good. They offer a money back guarantee for your last reading if it didn’t meet your expectations which is important to me.
Psychic Source is still my favourite for phone readings but Keen comes a close second. Like many of these large psychic networks they offer a new customer discount (currently their promo is 3 minutes free) so if you are looking to try something new or want to save some money then give Keen a try.

Best Psychic Video Chat readings
So in my internet discovery, I found out that you can now get psychic readings by live video! (well my nephew told me actually).This sounded scary at first. Do I want the psychic to see me and my house? Do I have to tidy up first?! No! Because you can see and hear the psychic but they can’t see or hear you.
Instead you communicate by typing your questions into a box, and they reply into their web cam. I actually found I do enjoy this style of reading, its lovely to be able to see your clairvoyant which of course you can’t really do by phone, although readers on other sites do have pictures.

There are a few sites offering these video chat readings, but I was most impressed by Oranum who have a large range of readers to choose from.
Some are better than others but you can test them out by watching first for free.
You can see and hear psychics talking on the livestream and pulling the occasional tarot or oracle card or answering a quick question for you, all for free!
Of course you do have to pay, if you want a proper private reading with them, but I think that this is a fantastic way to see if you feel a connection to a psychic before choosing them. It’s kind of like having a face to face reading but much more easy and with a choice of clairvoyants.
Who I used and can recommend: My favourite Oranum psychics are Eaglestar, (good for clarifying current situations or the past, doesn’t read about the future) Psychic Electra (good for future predictions)
Best Psychic Email Readings Reviews
So, in the course of my explorations online I made another surprising internet related discovery and found out that you can get psychic readings sent to you by email!
At first I wasn’t sure if this would really work. I don’t know why but I thought that maybe you needed to be close to the psychic for them to connect. But it turns out this is not the case and I’ve had some really amazing psychic email readings.
One of the things I like about this is that it gives you time to really think about your question. It seems like the reader does the same as I have gotten the most deep and detailed clairvoyant readings from email than through any other medium.

This psychic email readings website is the best! It’s really sweet and the owner is lovely, I think its a very small organisation as it only has 3 readers and often you hear directly from StormJewel. I’ve gotten amazing readings from these ladies and its really changed my mind about what I thought was possible regarding psychic gifts.
StormJewel’s readings in particular go really deep into the tarot and my questions in a way that I have not seen from many other readers.

Bridget (also known as Biddy) used to do email readings herself, but now she has some other readers on her site that she recommends. I’ve only actually had a reading from Biddy and it was only once, because her readings are a quite a lot more expensive than StormJewel’s, but I did really like it, and she clearly knows her stuff, so a visit to this site is also recommended, especially if you like the tarot. Again you can pay with paypal which is great.

The Love Queen Chat – Winner!
The Love Queen Review
I’ve recently started using The Love Queen and I’ve found that she’s really great. She’s a dating coach AND a psychic, so she’s great for love advice, but she does also answer other questions accurately as well, and so do her other psychics.
Its a really quick, effective and good value for money way to get answers to any short questions.
Something I love is that you get three credits absolutely free! (each credit gets you one answer). And you don’t even need to provide card details for that. Then if you want more you can buy credit packages using PayPal which is great because its easy and safe.
While phone or email is best for long or in-depth readings, text messages from The Love Queen really help me with some small matters throughout the day.

Guide – How to get the Best Psychic Readings Online
So you already know that you want to consult a psychic or intuitive, but you may still have many questions such as:
‘Which type of reading is best for me?’
‘Where can I find the psychic best readings for me?’,
‘Do readings online really work?’,
‘What kind of reading should I choose?’,
‘How should I ask my questions to get the best answers?’
‘Where are the most affordable psychic readings online?’
This guide will walk you through all of that so that you can focus on getting a really great psychic or medium reading. I’ll also tell you where I got the best psychic reading I ever had!
What Type of Reading do you want?
What with the internet and the progress of technology, there are now many more ways than before to get a great psychic reading, here’s a list of the different kinds:
- Psychic Readings in Person
- Psychic Readings by Phone
- Psychic Readings by Email
- Psychic Readings over Live Video
- Psychic Readings over Text Chat
I’ve tried all of these types of readings now and I feel that each of them can be very helpful in their own way, for finding out the answers to any issues or getting any specific psychic advice that I need. Some however are better suited to different purposes than others. I’m going to break each reading type down and examine in more detail. Here’s a quick explanation of the different types if you don’t want the detailed guide.
I feel that there are pros and cons to each type of reading. Since face to face readings have been the most popular way to consult a fortune-teller in the past, many people are surprised to know that it’s even possible to do readings from a distance. In fact, I used to think that way myself until I started trying online readings, after my nephew helped me to get started!
How is it possible to get an accurate reading from someone who is far away?
I spoke to StormJewel from StormJewel’s Email Psychics about this very topic because I was confused about if it could work.
She explained to me that distance is really quite irrelevant to psychics, and that if it were not, it would be impossible for any clairvoyant to predict something that wasn’t going to happen in the immediate area. Makes sense!
She tells me (and I also believe this to be true) that we are all connected by a universal energy. StormJewel says that this oneness energy is how she is able to connect and look into events both in the past and in the future, and for clients who are thousands of miles away.
Which Type of Psychic Reading is Best for Your Needs?
Let’s look at each psychic reading type individually:
Psychic Readings in Person
If you know a psychic that you trust, this can be a very friendly and reassuring way to get a reading. I’ve found that readings in person tend to be very comforting (assuming you have a compassionate psychic that is! Personally, I prefer women if I need some comforting but you might be different) like a friendly chat with a wise spiritual person.
Pros and Benefits
- Comforting to speak to someone face to face
- Great if you have been personally recommended a good psychic
- A (usually) fun and memorable experience.
- The way it’s always traditionally been done
Cons and Disadvantages
- A bit intense if you are new to psychic readings or even if not
- Sometimes very hard to find a really good psychic that lives near you
- Can be a bit hard to remember exactly what was said
- Possibility of the medium ‘pumping you’ for information without you realising
- Bit of a hassle to set up an appointment, go to the psychic and so on
- Possibility of lots of chat but not much actual psychic reading being done (If you or the psychic are rather chatty!)
Psychic Readings by Phone
After getting readings in person, getting readings done by phone is the most well-known way of receiving other worldly info! Above I’ve reviewed the psychics I think are the best for this, with my top choice being Psychic Source, which is where I got one of the best psychic readings I ever had.
In many ways getting a reading by phone is quite similar to getting one in person, since you will be chatting to your psychic, and them to you. However, there are a few important differences, because assuming you use one of the most popular psychic hotlines, you will have a very big choice of readers, and you will also have access to reviews of the various readers and other helpful tools.
The big choices of readers means that you can look for different types of psychics with different psychic powers, such as mediums (who talk to spirits and the dead), angel card readers, tarot readings, numerology and even rune readings.
Pros and Benefits
- Great selection of readers so you can browse them before hand and select someone you find yourself drawn to.
- You can check the customer reviews of each clairvoyant
- If you choose a reputable company such as Psychic Source, StormJewel’s Psychics or Keen, they will offer you a free reading if you are not happy with your paid reading
- A quick way to connect to an online psychic
- Great if you like a personal feeling from your psychic reading but can’t or don’t want to consult someone in person
- Not as intense as a face to face reading
Cons and Disadvantages
- So much choice can be overwhelming (coming soon, to help you choose, a list of my favourite Psychic Source Psychics!)
- It can be hard to remember what was said afterwards
- Still the possibility of being ‘pumped’ by the psychic for info
- There are many special offers and deals but some of the psychics charge a lot by the minute so it can end up being expensive (Asknow have psychics that charge $20 per minute!! – one of the reasons I can’t recommend them)
- Possibly best avoided if you have a very addictive personality

Not so much – Kasamba and Asknow (not saying they are bad but I didn’t like them for various reasons)
Psychic Readings by Email
This can be one of the best ways to get a really impartial, genuine and honest reading, in my opinion. Why? Well unlike phone and face to face readings, there is no possibility for a ‘cold’ reading or being ‘pumped’ by your psychic, since you just submit your questions and a few details and that’s it.
Also, the fact that your reader can do the reading in his or her own time, allows them to choose when they are really feeling ready to connect to you, and lets them analyse and look far deeper into your situation than is possible on the phone or in person.
That said, like any reading it does depend on who is doing it. Much though I love Psychic Source, they once offered me a free email reading and it was ok since it was free but mainly ‘fluff’ designed I suppose to intrigue me into a paid phone reading. Whereas readings by StormJewels are some of the best psychic readings I’ve ever gotten.
Pros and Benefits
- Great for getting really in-depth info (assuming you choose good email psychics such as StormJewel and Biddy Tarot)
- No risk of being ‘pumped’ for info
- Good for those who are nervous about speaking to a psychic or just don’t want the intensity
- Value for money – Tend to work out much cheaper than phone or video readings.
- Can reread the email and also keep it so that you can check in the future if it came true or not
- Psychic email reading sites that I’ve seen tend to have a smaller number of readers than video and phone networks, making it easier to choose!
Cons and Disadvantages
- It’s not instant
- You can’t suddenly think of a question half way through the reading and ask it
- Not quite as personal as other readings
My Highest Marks Psychic Email Readings Awards
Winner – StormJewel’s Psychics (some of the best readings I’ve ever had)
Runner up – Biddy Tarot
Not so much – Kasamba aka Liveperson (Liveperson used to be a mediocre site where anybody could be an ‘expert’ and you could call them on a premium rate number for advice, then they went into doing only psychics but with no real background in it, and then rebranded as Kasamba – others may not know but I haven’t forgotten!)
Readings over Live Video Chat (webcam)
This is a rather new and novel way to get readings, something that was not possible for me a few years ago due to slow internet! When you get a psychic reading by video, it is usually just the psychic (and not you) that is shown by video.
For example, with Oranum, you can watch and hear the psychic on the live video stream, and you communicate with them by typing in the text box. They can also type back to you and send you messages. I believe it is possible to also connect your webcam and/or microphone if you want to be able to talk to them directly or have them see you. In practice, I have not found the need to do that, but the option is there if you want. As there are many psychics on there, you can also search by different kinds of psychic powers and gifts.
Pros and Benefits
- Combines the intimacy of face to face readings with the convenience of staying at home
- Is less scary than doing a reading in person or by phone
- Allows you to see your reader but remain hidden
- Is very quick
- You can get a feel of the person in the free video chat before you enter into a paid chat (well with Oranum you can anyway)
- You can check customer reviews
Cons and Disadvantages
- Sometimes I find I forget what was said
- There aren’t as many (good) sites offering this yet
- Can be expensive
- Perhaps too much choice of readers, at least on my favourite video chat site (coming soon, full page about my top video psychics!)
My Recommended Video Chat Psychic Awards
Winner – Oranum, the experts of live psychic video chat
Runner Up – Psychic Source – (have not tried the video chat yet as it is new, but if its anything like their phone readings then should be good!)
Not so much – Bitwine – haven’t used this site in years but didn’t like it at all in the past for the same reason I didn’t like Liveperson now called Kasamba.
Readings by Sms, Text or Instant Messaging Chat
If you’re a fan of texting, Facebook, WhatsApp or any other kind of chat by typing, then this is a good option for you. It’s also great if you want really quick and concise answers at an affordable price. If you have a detailed situation that you need advice about then one of the other reading types would probably be better.
How do live text chat readings work?
I was a bit confused on this before so decided to clarify this for you incase you are also confused.
The answer is that it depends on who you use, some services rely on you using your mobile phone and sending a text, (eg Michelle Knight) but increasingly this is being replaced by online services where you can type your info in a chat box and receive the answer by chat, such as the Love Queen.
Of course, technically you could say that Oranum offers this service too since you type, but the difference with the Love Queen Psychic Chat is that it is much cheaper for short questions. Psychic source also now offers chat readings, cheaper than phone readings but more expensive than The Love Queen.
Pros and Benefits
- Very quick and easy way to get answers – you can even do it when you’re out and about
- Cheap if you don’t have tons of questions
- Not at all scary way to get readings online!
- Don’t need a good internet connection or a phone line
- Not easy for psychic to ‘pump’ you for info
Cons and Disadvantages
- Not as in-depth as other readings
- Not helpful for complicated questions
- Not very personal
Best Rated Live Text Chat Readings Awards
Winner – The Love Queen Chat – great and best value for money – also offers 3 totally free questions to get started, no card details required.
Runner Up – Psychic Source – always good and medium price range.
Worth a try – Oranum – has video chat as well but you could turn this off if you want
Not so much – Michelle Knight (UK text service that was ok but kind of expensive. – If you are looking for that try Penny’s clairvoyants, they are better value for money and come recommended)
Avoid Psychic Scams
There are three easy ways to know if your psychic is a scammer! Don’t fall for these tricks!
- Said ‘Psychic’ tells you you are cursed and must pay money to get the curse removed
- ‘Medium’ asks you weird open ended questions all the time like ‘i see a man that has passed that was close to you’. well yes, most people could relate to that!
- ‘Psychic’ asks endless questions about you and then tells that back to you along with some general stuff that could apply to anyone.
Curse Removal
Any psychic who says this and then asks for money to fix it or to cast spells to help you is a fraud. Do not pay. Avoid and ignore! If you truly think you are cursed consult a trusted healer or spiritual teacher.
Fake Mediums
If a medium makes very open statements, especially in a group (here’s looking at you John Edwards!) such as ‘I see a older lady that has passed, September was important’ that could relate to so many people, and then they just cold read you (work out what to say by asking questions and looking at your reactions). Don’t fall for this psychic scam!
Fake Psychics
It’s ok for psychics to ask you some questions in order to help you better and to help them connect to you, but if they ask tons of questions then just repeat back what you’ve said, or worse endless vague statements that could relate to anything, then wait till you reply then confirm what you just said… well that means they are no good, avoid and ignore!
Best Way to Ask Questions to a Psychic
To get the best psychic reading, you need to ask a good question! A good reader will re-interpret your question even if it is not ideal, but better yet is to start with a great question yourself.
Can I ask my clairvoyant ‘What should I do about _____?’
Most good psychics don’t really like to tell people what to do, instead they like to show them the potential outcomes of various choices. So rather than ask a psychic ‘should I’ (date someone, accept a new job, break up with my boyfriend/husband etc.) its best to say something like ‘what is the likely outcome if I make such and such a decision’.
If you have 2 or 3 choices about something and don’t know which to pick, why not lay them out for your psychic, and have them take a look at the energies surrounding each path.
Should I tell them some/any/lots of details about myself?
Whilst there is no need to reveal too much about yourself (unless you want to), if you have a complicated situation that you need psychic help with, its best to explain key points for your reader. No need to cover everything but give a little more info, and then you should get more specific and details psychic advice back.
If you do want to provide a lot of info, don’t forget to ask some actual questions so that your reader knows exactly what you want to find out about, this helps to ensure you get the best psychic reading possible for you.
